I'm a bit cheaty so i warped myself to 0,0,0 on the map and built my base there, so it's always easy to go back XD. Main base in the deep twisty bridges, and a small outpost in the lily pads, got everything i need. (Apart from kyanite) I built my base on an iceberg near the entrance to the surface area.
